New Study Reveals Only 22% of DJs Booked in Ibiza Are Women or Non-Binary
RA and Clubbing TV break down five months of bookings across Pacha, Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa, Amnesia, Club Chinois, DC‑10 and more
A newly released report has shed light on the ongoing gender imbalance in Ibiza’s club scene. According to data compiled by Laureline Teste of Clubbing TV and published by Resident Advisor, only 22% of unique acts booked for Ibiza’s 2025 season were women or gender fluid artists.
The study reviewed over 980 individual DJs announced between January and May 2025, based on official Instagram announcements and listings on Ibiza Spotlight. The results are stark: 766 were men, while only 214 were women or non-binary performers.
Major events fall short on diversity
Some of the island’s biggest names showed the lowest percentages of female or gender-diverse talent. Leading the list:
Marco Carola at Pacha: Only 9.7% (7 women out of 72 artists)
The Martinez Brothers at Hï Ibiza: 12.1%
Bedouin at Club Chinois: 12.1%
CircoLoco at DC-10: 19%
Worryingly, many of these artists are also relegated to early slots or smaller rooms, reinforcing structural barriers within Ibiza’s elite club networks.
“It’s still a boys' club. You see the same male residents booking one another season after season,” says the report. “Meanwhile, a new generation of talented women and non-binary artists are left waiting for fair opportunities.”

In many cases, female and non-binary DJs were placed in opening slots or smaller rooms, reinforcing long-standing systemic bias in booking decisions.
Who’s getting it right?
There are a few standout events trying to tip the scales. Parties with the highest share of female and gender-diverse bookings include:
Defected at Pacha – 28%
Francis Mercier presents Solèy at Club Chinois – 28.6%
Carl Cox's UNVRS – 32%
Pyramid at Amnesia – also reported as a strong performer in inclusive bookings
While none of the parties reach gender parity, these events demonstrate that a more balanced line-up is not only possible — it’s essential.
